Everyday we read another article about someone who spent a lot of money on an Internet marketing course that promises instant or quick wealth.  Most of you know what I am referring to..."Make $5,123.42 in 24 hours!"  or the pictures of screen shots that illustrate thousands of dollars in a ClickBank account.

Making money on the Internet is not an overnight or instant thing.  A business; be it on main street or the information super highway is still a business, period.

Of all of the social media applications out there Twitter has got to be the biggest waste of time for business.  Or is it?  How can a business effectively use this 140 character micro-blogging platform to reach an audience and create a brand that is followed and consumed?  We have a few ideas and some suggestions.

Technology Workgroup helps business get found online using internet marketing, search engine marketing, and social media.  Many times we have people ask us questions about finding a market or a niche.  Often times I hear that the market is saturated, there is no more room for another pizza shop, mom and pop grocery, or coffee shop.  It just isn't true...

More and more companies are "loosening up" on their views on social media in the workplace.  Despite all the harbingers of doom and lost profits, it seems that there may have been a significant degree of error in their reporting.  But is social media NSFW?

I think it is a good time to take stock of the “dark side” of using social media.  A time will come when your customers will start talking about you or your brand using online social media ranging from Facebook to Twitter to Yelp, you’ve got to expect some negative comments in the mix. The question is what do you do when it happens?  I would propose the following survival guide for when social media attacks.

Do you remember uniforms for gym class? Running shoes black or blue, tube socks either plain white or with stripes at the top, grey, black, or navy shorts, and white t-shirts.

No, it isn’t a typo. I really meant “sheepwalker”. One who follows the status quo …because that’s what we do (as defined by Seth Godin).

Am I talking about tattoos? No. I’m talking about branding. No, and not the kind with the hot coals and the iron. I am referring to personal branding.
